A narrow-band spectrogram is a spectrogram with a greater resolution in frequency. This requires the use of a larger [[window function]] that reduces the resolution in time. In a narrow-band spectrogram of a signal with a [[voiced phonation]] is possible to see the horizontal stripes corresponding to the harmonics of the [[fundamental frequency]]. This is called the harmonic structure of the speech signal. ![[Spectrogram_and_the_STFT_8_0.png]] [[Backstrom 2022]] In [[wideband spectrogram]] the harmonic structure is not visible.
